Puttur is a taluk headquarters in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka State of India with a population of about 70,000. Puttur is the second largest town of the Dakshina Kannada District. The Mangalore Hassan railway passes through Puttur taluk and there is a station in the town with the name Kabaka Puttur.
